Mobile backhaul & edge connectivity

Design the transport that links radio sites, aggregation and core or edge locations. 4G and 5G service quality depends on the transport and operating design as well as the radio layer.

01

Design inputs

Identify the radio architecture, traffic forecast, aggregation ratio and interface. Fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul have different capacity, latency and timing needs. Record synchronization requirements from the equipment specification and distinguish frequency, phase and time distribution.

02

Delivery scope

Evaluate fibre access, aggregation capacity, diverse paths and the location of edge processing. Wireless or satellite may complement a site design, subject to visibility, spectrum, capacity and operating conditions. A 6G roadmap is a planning input, not a currently orderable ADNET radio service.

03

Acceptance & operations

Test transport under busy-hour load, equipment failover and timing-source loss where relevant. Confirm alarms, fault ownership and restoration procedures between the radio and transport teams. Compare measured packet delay variation and loss against the actual application requirements.

Engineering the connection

Evidence before commitment.

  1. 01

    Define the endpoints

Record building addresses, meet-me rooms, rack locations, local access and required interfaces. A city name alone is not a delivery location.

  2. 02

    Establish the physical evidence

Request route documents, fibre rights, border handoffs, shared-risk groups and maintenance responsibilities. Distinguish verified alignment from public schematic topology.

  3. 03

Design the optical and service layers

Review loss, connectors, splices, OSNR, dispersion, regeneration and equipment support. Define bandwidth, protection, timing and the service demarcation.

  4. 04

    Prove the delivered service

Agree test duration, traffic profile, error thresholds, latency measurement points, failover and restoration procedures. Archive the agreed baseline and change process.
